I am so excited that you are interested in choosing me to document your portraits! I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are waiting to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
I began capturing images on film when I was young, and as I ventured into digital photography, both mediums caused me to observe the beauty in the world, and the people around me. Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to create beautiful and emotional images that tell your story and showcase the beauty of both the people in the images and the world around them. It would be my honor and joy to tell your story and create some magic together!

After photographing hundreds of portrait sessions over the past few years, we’ve found that we’re not the perfect fit for every family. That’s why this process begins with a conversation.
We’ll get to know one another, talk about the details of your session, answer any questions you might have about working with us and figure out if we’re the best fit for each other.
LET's CONNECT
Once your date is reserved, we'll connect to start chatting about possible locations for your session. We generally recommend choosing one location and if it's a place you haven't been before, it might be helpful to visit during the time our session will take place. That way you have an idea of the light, crowds, closing time, etc! If you're not sure about where you would like to take your photos but you have a general idea of the look you would like, just let us know because we would be happy to recommend a few locations based on your aesthetic!
LOCATION
If picking out outfits for photos takes you back to your high school days when you literally tried on everything in your closet and piled it on your bed but still felt like you had nothing to wear, you're in luck.
I've put together some wardrobe suggestions through Pinterest boards and am always happy to collaborate or give you a second opinion as you start shopping for your outfits!
waRDROBE STYLING
On the day of your session, we'll connect to make sure the weather still looks like it's going to cooperate. We'll exchange numbers and finalize our meeting location. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early as our shooting time is dependent on lighting and the time of sunset.
The SEssion
All images from our sessions are typically delivered within about 4-8 weeks of the shoot date via an online gallery. This gallery will allow you to share your favorites with family, order prints and even download images to share on social media.
Your gallery will remain active for 10 years online.

Locally, this is my location recommendation for the majority of my sessions, including engagements. Their vast, European style grounds provide a beautiful backdrop and varying locations for a diverse gallery of images. The Lily House is on property as well as several different styles of gardens that transport you from Indianapolis to Europe! There is a $50 photo pass fee that my clients cover for this location.

A portrait session is a wonderful excuse to cross a destination off of your bucket list and bring me along to photograph your love or continuing family story against the backdrop of another breathtaking part of the world. I've been honored to photograph sessions in California, Charleston and even Paris, so I am seasoned in location scouting in new areas and providing exceptional service for my clients all around the globe.

With the growth of online shops, shopping for your littles is more fun than ever! We recommend choosing color families (neutrals, blues, etc) over perfectly matching outfits. If you're looking for some inspiration or some of our favorite shops for kids, check out the link to our Pinterest boards below!
For the Littles
When picking outfits we recommend keeping in mind the word “complement” rather than “match.” For example, if Dad is wearing a blue and pink pastel plaid shirt, Mom may want to choose a long, soft blue dress. It can also be a great idea to choose “color-families,” such as pastels or jewel tones.

The sooner the better! My weekdays tend to fill up pretty quickly - especially during the spring and fall, so the sooner you reach out to me, the more likely you are to get your desired date!
To reserve your date, I'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let me know!
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?
Unless you've modeled professionally, it's normal to feel nervous about being in front of the camera. That's why it's my job to put you at ease, help you to pose and make you feel comfortable so that I can capture you in an authentic way.
While you may be nervous, as the session goes on and I coach you through it, I think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And don't worry about your kids. I'm well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.

Yes! Traveling is something that brings my soul joy - there is something about documenting love in a beautiful and new part of the world that is so fulfilling. I have extensive travel experience ranging from coast to coast and internationally throughout Europe and would love to help you plan your destination session. Travel fees will be calculated separately based on the location and timing you choose and I work with you to make it affordable and accommodating.
do you travel for portrait sessions?
If it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or be otherwise inclement, I'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule.
Often, when we're scheduling our initial portrait session date, if it works for our calendars, we'll actually set up both a main date and a rain date just to make sure we don't have to postpone your session for very long if the weather doesn't cooperate on the original date.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download all of the high resolution images that are hand edited by me and stored in the cloud for 10 years.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, canvases and other keepsakes completely seamless. No worrying about tricky things like color correction, DPI and image format.
